The U.S. Navy Band – Country Current
Sept. 13, 7 p.m., at Montpelier Center for Arts & Education, Montpelier
The Navy’s premier country-bluegrass ensemble performs a blend of modern country music and cutting-edge bluegrass. The seven-member ensemble features banjo, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, fiddle, electric bass, upright bass, dobro, pedal steel guitar and drum set. Plus vendors owned and operated by veterans or supporting veterans and their families. FREE.
43rd Street Festival of the Arts
Sept. 14, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 43rd Street and Forest Hill Avenue, Richmond
Shop among 75 juried local and regional artists and artisans, alongside live music, food, and a fundraiser for CARITAS. FREE admission.
Virginia Distilled
Sept. 14, 6 to 9 p.m., at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture, Richmond
Celebrate Virginia Spirits Month with sips from a dozen Virginia distilleries (with distillery reps on hand to answer your questions), educational sessions on the history of spirits and Virginia connections, the finals for the Virginia Cocktail Games, food trucks, and music. VIP session starts one hour earlier.
OktoberForest Fest 2024
Sept. 15, noon to 6 p.m., at Fine Creek Brewing, Powhatan
Celebrate Virginia’s lands and waters with beers and conservancy. Presenting beers from 12 breweries, including collaboration beers using wild ingredients from four iconic Virginia landscapes. Plus the folks from The Nature Conservancy, live music, and oysters.
