January 2025 Open House and Artist Reception

The unveiling of new exhibitions with reception for artists and guests of food, drink, and music. Includes an exhibit by John MacLellan with the Richmond Triangle Players, a live drum performance and storytelling by Babs Mohammed, the Gallery Member Exhibition themed “Love,” and a Juried All-Media show.

“The Dream … We Almost Never Heard.” Presentation by Arthur T. Broady with performances by gospel soloist, Daphne Jackson. The speech honors Dr. King’s memory and will be held both in person and via Zoom. Jan. 16, 6:30 p.m., at the VCU Mary and Frances Youth Center, Richmond.
Fatherhood Mix & Mingle: “Engage, Educate, Empower.” A transformative event celebrating fatherhood; open to all parents and families. Jan. 17, 6 to 8 p.m., at the VCU Mary and Frances Youth Center, Richmond.

Beloved Community Walk. Hosted by VCU & Befriend for the MLK Day of Service. The walk aims to spread messages of love and hope around the VCU campus and foster unity, positivity, and community through uplifting messages. Jan. 20, 2 to 4 p.m., at VCU Student Commons, Richmond.
MLK Vigil and Walk. On the MLK Day of Service, the walk combines moments of reflection, unity, and remembrance. All are welcome to participate in this tribute to Dr. King’s vision of justice and equality. Jan. 20, 4 p.m., starting at Art Depot, Richmond.
