Earth Day Buy Nothing Event
Practice ways outside capitalism. Drop off items that no longer serve you and take some that might. All leftovers go to Diversity Thrift. No donation required to participate (see web page for donation guidelines).

3 Earth Day Picks
- Earth Day Henrico. Outdoor fun and activities (rock wall, therapeutic sensory experiences, fitness activities, kayaking), food trucks, live music, local vendors, electric vehicles, trails for hiking and biking, and tree tours. April 19, noon to 3 p.m., at Deep Run Park, Henrico.
- Earth Day at SMV. True to its mission, the SMV presents an activity-packed, environmental science-focused festival. Learn about composting, wetlands, bike infrastructure, solar power, native plants and pollinators, energy savings, and more. April 19, noon to 5 p.m., at the Science Museum of Virginia, Richmond.
- Celebrate Earth Day at the BHMVA. Honor the Earth, bees, and the beauty of nature with immersive experiences, science activities, information on bees, and more. April 19, 1 to 3 p.m., at the Black History Museum, Richmond.
Richmond Restaurant Week
Support local restaurants with prix fixe meal specials. Portions of each meal sold go to benefit Feed More.

Pure Prairie League
The iconic country-rock band, who brought success to the genre in the 1970s and ’80s, returns to Central Virginia after the release of their new album, “Back on Track” (December 2024) – their first album of new material in almost 20 years.
April 24, 7:30 p.m., at Beacon Theatre, Hopewell.
John McEuen & The Circle Band
The American folk musician and a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has been performing – and more – since 1964, with numerous concerts and songs in his name and many instruments in his repertoire: banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, piano, and dulcimer.
April 24, 8 p.m., at The Tin Pan, Richmond.
