This documentary film follows rivers and pathways that carried enslaved people to Virginia and other places of bondage and resistance. It includes commentary by Virginia artists, teachers, students, historians, family history researchers, faith leaders, social justice advocates, and others. Orchids: Let’s Celebrate
Feb. 23 to 25, 2024, at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
The Virginia Orchid Society presents its annual show, with hundreds of orchids on display, lectures for beginners and experienced growers, vendor sales of orchids and accessories, and an art exhibit.

“To Kill a Mockingbird”

Harper Lee’s powerful, moving 1960 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel comes to the stage. Academy Award-winning Aaron Sorkin adapted the story, which opened on Broadway in 2018. Richard Thomas plays Atticus Finch.
