19th Annual Cap2Cap
May 10 and 11 on the Virginia Capital Trail between Richmond and James City County
This family-friendly cycling event provides fun and competition. Participants enjoy a fully supported course, furnished rest stops, and distance options ranging from a 10-mile fun ride to 100+ miles, for any age or fitness level. Look for customizable routes, a flexible open-start format, SAG and tech support, restroom facilities, a party and vendor fair at Chickahominy Riverfront Park in James City County on Friday, May 10, and at Dorey Park in Henrico County on Saturday, May 11. Festivities include a community celebration, DJ, and local artisans. On-site registration and packet pick-up.

Days of a Quiet Sun: Garage Rock & Soul in Henrico County
May 11, 2 to 3 p.m., at The Springs Recreation Center, Henrico
Get a glimpse into the vibrant garage rock and soul scene of the 1960s and 1970s in Henrico County as seen through the eyes of local Freeman High graduate Martin Geary. He went on to produce and press records as a means of documenting the likes of Sandston’s The Barracudas, The Hazards, Bernard Smith and Jokers Wild, King Edward and his B.D.’s, and more.
Mile of Music
May 11, 2 to 4:30 p.m., at Bryan Park, Richmond
Stroll through the park and take in multiple mini-concerts along a one-mile route, surrounded by natural beauty and blooming azaleas. Presented by the Richmond Symphony and the City of Richmond.
Richmond Ivy Women’s Soccer
May 11, gates open at 4:45 p.m., kickoff at 6 p.m., at City Stadium, Richmond
Welcome women’s pre-professional soccer to town at Richmond Ivy’s opening game vs. Virginia Marauders FC. Rally Towel giveaway for the first 500 fans in attendance, Ivy Temporary Tattoo giveaway for the first 1,000 fans in attendance, $5 Barefoot Rose and Pinot Grigio Happy Hour from 4:45 to 6 p.m., a Period Supplies Drive to benefit Sylvia’s Sisters – and dynamic women’s soccer!
Free at Agecroft for Moms and Guests
May 12 at Agecroft Hall, Richmond
Enjoy Agecroft Hall’s gardens, grounds, and trails for free during the afternoon. Picnicking is welcome and encouraged, and there will be ice cream for sale. In the evening, Agecroft hosts a free concert by the Richmond Concert Band. Registration is encouraged for both. May 12: garden open from noon to 5 p.m., followed by the concert from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
