Evidently, every SNL alum has put the word out that Richmond loves stand-up comedy. Jim Breuer was a regular from 1995 to 1998 – remember Goat Boy? He’s also on the list of Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Standups of All Time.”

Rachel Marrs: Covid Bride

Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9 at 8 p.m. each night in the Mill Room at Swift Creek Mill Theatre, S. Chesterfield

This intimate performance features Richmond musical-theater actress Rachel Marrs, who shares her story of becoming a bride during the pandemic.

Jammin’ on the James featuring The Whiskey Rebellion

Saturday, July 9 at 6 p.m. at the Wilton House Museum, Richmond

Spend at pleasant summer evening sitting on the bluff at Wilton House. Enjoy the views of the James as well as Whiskey Rebellions’ fusion of bluegrass and jazz. Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner and make it a beautiful date night or bring the family. There’ll be face painting as well as complimentary tours of Wilton before the concert.

Sitting on the lawn at the Dell on a warm summer night and listening to music – it’s a decades-old Richmond tradition. This Saturday, enjoy bolero, samba, cha-cha, salsa, bossa nova, Latin jazz standards, and more as the Hampton Virginia-based Latin Jazz Conspiracy provides free entertainment for all.
