Thursday, April 13

Richmond LGBTQ Chamber Annual Meeting. Mingle, network, hear program plans, and learn about trends in LGBTQ travel, including Virginia. April 13, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Diversity Richmond.

Murals of Jackson Ward Walking Tour. Visit murals, revitalized buildings and historic homes and learn the neighborhood’s rich history, from immigrant working-class neighborhood to the “Harlem of the South” and real renewal, looking at how art highlights the story. Soul Expressions. Playing a range of hits from genres throughout the decades. April 14, 7:30 p.m., at Henrico Theatre, Highland Springs.

The English Channel, “Heroes & Legends: The Music That Makes Them Immortal.” America’s premier British Invasion cover band presents a new version of their concert. April 14, 8 p.m., at The Tin Pan, Richmond.

VisArts Inaugural Richmond Poetry Fest. Celebrating poetry and the local writing community with readings, workshops, vendors, and activities for creatives of all ages. FREE. April 14 to 15 at VisArts, Richmond.

War in Pieces. Three performances of the four one-act plays written by Virginia veterans (making up for performances cancelled by Covid). April 14 and 15 at Virginia Rep, Theatre Gym, Richmond.

Chesterfield’s Inaugural Earth Day Festival. Entertainment, food trucks, demonstrations, and outdoor activities. April 15, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, Chesterfield.

PopUp RVA at The Diamond. Support local at this weekly seasonal mix of 50 to 60 local artisans and crafters, plus live music, adult beverages, and food. Saturdays through October, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at The Diamond red lot, Richmond.

Ginter Park Garden Club’s Spring Market. Juried local artisans and vendors present a variety of items, ranging from garden-related – plants, herbs, tools, décor, etc. – to handmade jewelry, clothing, soaps and lotions, baked goods, white elephant sale, and more. Baseball, Books, and Boogying with Greyhounds. Local author Joyce A.
