An Unexpected Pocket of Ethnicity

The stretch of Midlothian Turnpike near Chippenham Parkway often feels like merely a means to get from Point A to Point B. But while you weren’t looking, this unassuming section of highway blossomed into a goldmine of multicultural flavor.

During a recent Fire, Flour & Fork excursion, I scoped out a handful (among many handfuls!) of ethnic eateries, all within a two-mile stretch. From Central American to Asian to Caribbean and more, each of these culinary destinations is owned and operated by individuals who hail from these regions, ensuring quality and authenticity.

TAQUERIA PANCHITO

The tacos at Panchito, made with crispy corn tortillas, savory fillings and sautéed veggies, taste suspiciously similar to real street tacos from Mexico. Which might be attributed to the fact that all of the chefs are from Mexico. Muy interesante.

CARENA’S JAMAICAN GRILLE
