Friday, Aug. 19 and Saturday, Aug. 20 with shows at 7 and 9:30 p.m. each night at the Funny Bone Comedy Club Restaurant, Glen Allen
Comic Joe Gatto, best known from his days on “Impractical Jokers,” brings his unique brand of comedy to Short Pump.
Flying Circus Balloon Festival
Saturday, Aug. 20 and Sunday, Aug. 21 with gates opening both days at 6 a.m. at the Flying Circus Airshow, Bealeton
Head about 80 miles north of Richmond and let your spirits soar. It’s a balloon show and an air show. Ride in a balloon or one of the planes (subject to availability and weather conditions). Get there early when the balloons launch.
RVA Duck Race and Festival of Inclusion
Saturday, Aug. 20. The event begins at 11 a.m. and the duck race starts at 3 p.m. It all takes place on Brown’s Island, Richmond
The Quack is back! The Autism Society of Central Virginia (ASCV) is bringing the ducks back in conjunction with a brand-new Festival of Inclusion. Look for music, yoga, dance, a drum circle, and demos of disc golf, martial arts, adaptive hockey, and more. Proceeds support the ASCV’s critical programming and services for our local autism community. The Festival of Inclusion will be Richmond’s first sensory-friendly festival designed to include and accommodate individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
31st Down Home Family Reunion
Saturday, Aug. 20 from 4 to 11 p.m. at Abner Clay Park, Richmond
The Elegba Folklore Society presents this celebration of African American folklife, designed to connect aspects of West African cultural traditions with African Americans and to show their influence on the American South.
