RVA Time Machine: Tobacco Festival

By Boomer Staff | July 27th, 2016

BOOMER jumps back in time each week with a new photo from The Library of Virginia's archives.

Many may remember getting up early to go watch the well-attended Tobacco Festival with their family in Richmond. The festival ran from 1949-1984 and often ended with everyone gathering at the Tobacco Bowl football game.

This photograph was taken Sept. 19, 1953 by Adolph B. Rice Studio and is courtesy of the Library of Virginia.
